From UruguayWiki
Welcome
This site is a resource for newcomers to Uruguay. Although "moving to Uruguay" is the subject of a number of blogs and forums, it can be challenging to find relevant information all in one place. This Wiki was inspired by the All Chile Wiki (which provides information about moving to Chile) and it attempts to provide a similar service for those considering a move to Uruguay.
What This Wiki Is
- A rough guide of culture and services for those who are moving to (or considering moving to) Uruguay. Some hardcopy guides to Uruguay do exist, but information becomes outdated quickly, so this site attempts to provide free and current information.
- A place for anyone to contribute information that they feel is valuable to the English-speaking community in Uruguay (except for the restrictions noted below under "What This Wiki Is Not").
- The wiki is currently hosted and edited by UruDad. Please feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you would like to comment on the service.
What This Wiki Is Not
- This wiki is not a directory of professional services or local companies. Although the wiki occasionally lists companies or businesses that are likely to be used by everyone (major utilities, grocery stores, etc.), the wiki is intended to be impartial, so it does not contain lists of specific professionals, small businesses or similar. These (or any other promotional edits) will be deleted. If you would like to list your business or service, try the Uruguay Connection directory.
