Electricity

[edit] Electricity
- The standard in Uruguay is 220V, 50 Hz.
- Thus far, I have seen plug type C (standard European continental) and type I in use. Note that, apparently, the neutral and hot wires in Argentina and Uruguay are reversed from what is normally used in other countries. The world electric guide claims that Uruguay can use C, F, I and L types, so if you have a universal adapter kit with a lot of plug converters, be sure to bring it!
- Post about availability of electrical adapter plugs in Montevideo.
- Electricity rates as of August 2009 and February 2010 (in Spanish).
- A guide to electricity in Uruguay with recommendations on which electronics you can bring with you.
